Spanking New Set

Hello!

So, it's been two months since we came back from America, which was a truly incredible week!  Have a look here if you fancy some footage from it.

Upon returning, we decided that we are entirely bored of all our songs...  So we wrote some new ones!  It's taken us two months to write a completely brand new set (excluding closer Curves & Corners) and yesterday we unleashed it upon the public for the first time.  Working on so many new songs simultaneously is certainly a challenge, it's very exciting but when you work so intensely on something it's hard to keep an outside perspective.  You find yourself thinking, is this song really good, or just weird?  Is it unpredictable in a good way, or a stupid way?  All that matters at this stage though is that we're pushing ourselves forward and enjoying what we're playing; as a songwriter you should be a bit worried by a new song because that's how you know you're outside of your comfort zone and stretching your creative abilities.  So time will tell just how good this new set is but right now it feels really fresh and innovative.  We've been exploring new time signatures, slower tempos, guitar loops, and lots more intricate instrumental sections than before.  In addition, the space station of FX pedals continues to grow and opens up new sonic possibilities for our already confused amps.

We do have a long term plan for the next year but it's top secret, and also nobody cares.  But phase one is to write tons and tons of new songs, so this is really just the beginning.  We really want to be making music that nobody else can, so for the next few months we'll be exploring and seeing what we can add to our repertoire.  Meanwhile there's the small matter of our single release at the end of this month, excitant, non?  Curves & Corners, our long-serving trusty set closer and crowd favourite will soon be available to buy on Crystalline Records, keep your eye on the homepage for details!
